bloggingnala, thoughts from the blacktop

This is "Nala's Mom" here. She had a really great blog post written but unfortunately it was deleted due to some sort of technical error. Nala was quite upset so I am going to do a quick update for her.

First, she was playing with some beads that came off her necklace while lying down. Gravity and a one in a million chance combined to land a bead in her ear. When she went to retrieve the bead it pressed further down into her ear. Moral of the story - don't play with beads while lying down! A trip to the ER was both painful and unsuccessful at removing the bead. They even tried sedating her with a medicine that induces “twilight sleep”.  I know what you may be thinking "twilight sleep", she suddenly turns into a teenage vampire filled with angst and begins to fights werewolves... nope she just became loopy and semi-asleep. But I also discovered something cool.  It also acts as truth serum. For example, I always thought Nala's favorite drink was root beer but it is actually orange Fanta! I asked her about her favorite food... sushi and "chick, chick, chicken, chicken, chicken". I knew this but it was funny to hear her say it. Also confirmed, her favorite talk show is "Ellen". Does Daddy take you anywhere & then not tell Mommy? "Yes, sometimes to get a frappe or candy. Then, don't tell Mommy we were ever here!" I said, "Oh really? Does he take you anywhere else?" And she said, "YES! Hosssssss, hossssss, hospitals, hospitals, hospitals!" At which point I just cracked up because she was falling back asleep and I don't think she knew what she was saying. So, maybe it isn’t 100% accurate as truth serum.

So, today after a very expensive co-pay (dang, kids are expensive) she had to be completely sedated (as in 100% asleep) to have the bead removed. It is finally OUT!!! Her ear feels much better and we have some drops to put in it for a week. That is all. I am sure she will update on the next exciting thing in her life and hopefully no more computer errors!  Bye!   - Nala's Mom (guest writer)

Have you ever got bullied? Well, I have. Getting bullied is a horrible experience and sadly I have to share it with you. I was bullied this year at school on the bus. 3 boys bullied me because I felt sick and fell asleep. They called me sleepy head, baby, and they called me nose picker (but I'm not). I told them to stop but they didn't. When I told them to stop they said " Or what?" I thought of saying "I'm gonna get you back for this." but, I didn't. Another way someone bullied me  is when one of my classmates laughed at me for not being able to swim (but I learned last month). He called me baby but, my friends  "Lyla" and "Rose" stood up for me. They told him it wasn't nice and to stop. Later I thanked them and they said no problem. I have a strong dislike for bullying. When someone bullies me I go bonkers! Then, I say "Stop bulling me it isn't nice." Once I stood up for my friend "Aly". When we were playing, some 5th graders went up to "Aly" and started making fun of her. Then I stood up for her and said " Stop "Aly" doesn't like it. Bullying isn't nice." Then the 5th graders walked away. "Aly" thanked me. So if you see someone getting bullied, like me stand up for the person.

Well, today I'm going to tell you about how I think of ideas for my blog. The way I come up with my ideas is very crazy! I dance! All I do is dance around the house until I think of and idea. Then, when I think of one (an idea) I type it on my  Ipod Touch. Do you want to know how I figured out I could "dancestorm"? Well one night I was thinking about what I was going to write for my blog the next day. I got tired of thinking so I started dancing. Then after I span around a couple times an idea popped into my head. I grabbed my Ipod and quickly typed it up and saved it. After that I started dancing again and lots of ideas popped into my mind. Those ideas were recorded (typed) on my Ipod. Anyway I have to wrap up now for 2 reasons. Reason 1: I have to dancestorm for a picture, Reason 2: I can't really describe dancestorming, it is easier to dance than to describe dance.

Racism has been around for more years than you can imagine. Why hasn't it stopped? Some people don't take minority people to work for them. Same with some people except he/she is racist about religion (like Jewish or Muslim). People try to stop racism but it isn't working. I wonder why? People should know racism is bad and not do it. These days people are very mean to one another. Ever since the beggining of mankind we have been made the same inside no matter what we look on the outside. Does it really matter what we belive in or what we look like?

When my family goes to some parts down south we are almost last to get served at restaurants and people give mom dirty looks. Do you know why? It's because they think mom should have married a white person (since she's white) and my dad should have married an asian person (since he's asian). They also think my brother and I shouldn't be here because we are mixed. One person even said to my mom "I don't understand why people can't just stay with there own kind - no offense." stating my parents shouldn't have married each other. I have to wrap up now so, since you have heard what racism is and a real life example think, wouldn't it be boring if everyone and everything was the same.

Bye! P.S. why haven't you been reading my blog? I'm a goof ball!

Well, my brother has SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder). He is now getting occupational therapy. Okay bye bye.

During winter break on my grandma’s T.V. I found out that tropical storm Sendong had damaged parts of the Philippines. At
that instant I knew I had to do something. I couldn’t bear to see people like that. If that were me I would have wanted people to do something. So I did something.

I made up a project to collect clothes! I called it project Lots of Compassion. I told my teacher about it and he said it was a
great idea. I initially wanted only my class to collect clothes. But, my teacher wanted to make it a 3rd and 4thgrade project. Then my teacher asked the principal. My principal allowed me to make it a 3rd and 4th grade project. So, my teacher and my principal made flyers to go in the children’s mailboxes to take home and show their parents. In the end we packed 6 giant boxes full of clothes. So here is the website of the foundation that we sent clothes to:
